Helsinki 2007

When I first visited Helsinki in the fall of 2007, I didn’t really know what to expect. I had never been to Finland before and didn’t even have it on my internal map until I decided to go there and see Poets of the Fall.

It was only one weekend, but that proved enough for me to completely fall in love with this city. The architecture, the water, the parks and the people where all wonderful. Never mind the grey weather and rain I got for a while as long as there also was sunshine.

So these are my very first impressions of a city I have returned to many times since. I’ve also returned to many of the same places, always connecting them with happy memories. Come with me and take a look at the city through the eyes of someone seeing it for the first time.
