I spent a whole month is Iceland and was lucky enough to visit the volcanic eruption in Geldingadalur three times, twice by day and once in the evening/at night. It was totally different each time – not only in weather and mood, but especially because the volcano kept changing. For the first two trips I was on my own and on the second trip I even carried my ukulele with me, but it was too windy to play anything there and be heard. The third time around I was with friends and not only did we have an impromptu concert in front of the lava, but got to see Northern Lights on the way down. It was perfect!
